In a bid to improve the service and space design at railway reservation counters, Bang* came up with a solution which would help in queue management and keep the premises neat and clean. Our research showed pain points at form collection, train information and across the counter changes. To this was added the underlying problem of multiple languages across stations in the country and the ever growing crowds at the railway reservation counters.
Our aim would be to design the information architecture to be compatible across different languages and be effective in reducing the transaction time. The form dispenser helps the user print the information on the forms based upon train availability leaving the user to fill only their personal details. This minimizes the forms that the user would fill saving up on time as well as paper which otherwise would contribute to litter on the premises. Since the user knows beforehand which trains are available, the transaction time at the counter is also reduced.
